In this article, Suman Varandani illustrates the dangers of Rio, Brazil hosting the 2016 Olympics emphasizing the fear of the Zika epidemic spreading into the United Stated when our Olympians return home. The mosquito-borne disease has sparked some to protest carrying out this year's Olympics in Rio. 37 people out of a possible 500,000 visiting Brazil for the Rio Olympics would be expected to go home with Zika.
The Olympics must go on, however, it is evident Rio or any sect of Latin America is not the safest place to host such a spectacular sports competition due to the tragic Zike outbreak. Zika has had a frighteningly high number victims recently and those numbers are significantly higher in Latin America. Olympians are surely protected though and are well taken care of so I don't find the U.S.A's participation in the Olympics a threat. On the other hand, the Olympics attracts millions of spectators and many of them Americans who may likely bring the Virus home.

Climate Hackers: One man’s plan to stop global warming by shooting particles into the atmosphere
The article exemplifies that we have remained inactive and nonchalant about the tyrannical reality of climate change. Many even doubt the issue exists so scientists have decided to take matters into their own hands. To help significantly alleviate the dangers of climate change scientists plan to use 'Solar Radiation Management.'
To me, Climate change is a prominent issue in contemporary society, and part of why I believe it is an issue is because many do not even believe it exists. I applaud those who are actually taking action despite the fact that our government has been wrongly ignoring the issue.

Hurricane Hermine: Florida landfall is imminent
The article walks the readers through the tragic path of Hurricane Hermine. As the natural disaster neared Florida, people all across the Atlantic were warned of potential flooding. Since the Atlantic Coastline has not witnessed a grand hurricane in about 9 years, the coast was shocked yet prepared accordingly.
Though it is a tragedy, it is fascinating to see such great winds and waves in a gulf and coast that has not experienced any hurricanes in about 9 years. With the flooding in Louisiana, the country does not need another natural disaster to put us in a deeper crisis.
